Love where you live: Southampton

01 Feb 2021

With the UK in another national lockdown, it’s more important than ever to love where you live. From having enough space in your home, to easy access to walking routes for your daily exercise, now’s the time to think about your wish list!

One of our Rent to Buy tenants, Hollie, has shared some of the reasons that she loves where she lives.

Located perfectly between city and country
Living in Woolston, Southampton, Hollie’s favourite thing about her local area is being so close to the city, with so many beautiful walks nearby. “I had no idea that Woolston had so many hidden treasures when I decided to move here. It’s been an amazing place to live during 2020, with the beach and woods within 15 minutes’ walk. I’m also right next door to the train station, and the bus routes into the city are brilliant”.

“My favourite walking route starts off a Weston Shore beach (where you can get amazing chip butties), through Westwood Nature Reserve, down to Netley Abbey and along to Royal Victoria Country Park. You see all of the best bits of the area in one walk, and there’s such a variety in the scenery!”

One of our Rent to Buy tenants, Hollie lives in a two bedroom apartment at Ashton Walk. She says “I’ve had such a great experience living as a Radian Homes resident. The best part is that, moving into a newbuild, all of my neighbours moved in the same day as me. We started up a Facebook group, and it’s such a great little community. People are always happy to help one another out.

“Also, the facilities in my apartment are fantastic. Previously, I lived in a maisonette built in the 80s. It was always cold and damp, and things broke all the time. Here, everything is brand new so I don’t have to worry!”
