Shared Ownership is designed to help you make your first (or next) step on the property ladder. Even if you’ve never owned a home before, or are looking to downsize, you could be eligible for one of our homes on this scheme.
2. Add a personal touch
Sick of your bare, white walls? Well, with Shared Ownership homes, you’ll have the freedom to decorate – including hanging pictures on the wall! So you can really make your house start to feel like a home.
3. Space and privacy
If you buy with Shared Ownership, you might be able to afford a larger property than you expected. So, you’ll be able to rest easy knowing your home will last if and when your family grows.
4. Low deposits
We know it can be tough trying to save up for large deposits, especially if you’re currently renting. But Shared Ownership may be within reach sooner than buying on the open market. Deposits start at 5% of the share you’re purchasing, which means you could be paying a deposit starting from £3,500* to make your next move.
5. Choose your dream location

6. Move sooner than you think
Depending on your household income, and the property you choose, you could purchase as little as 25% of your new home*. This will still be a step on the property ladder, but in a way that suits you and your situation. What’s more, you can reserve a home with us with just £250!*
7. Increase your shares when you’re ready
Shared Ownership is incredibly flexible, so if and when you’re ready, you could save up and buy more shares (called “staircasing”). With many homes, you’ll even have the option to staircase until you own 100%, so you won’t need to pay us rent anymore!^
